One Bottle Each, Episode 15, The de Négoce Edition, with my Guest Jeff Kralik

On Episode 15 of One Bottle Each I’m joined by my friend Jeff Kralik, The Drunken Cyclist. Normally my guest and I each pre-arrange a bottle each for us to taste. This time Jeff and I selected a bottle apiece from Cameron Hughes new project de Négoce. We were on Zoom Happy Hour Tasting that our PR friends Rusty Eddy, Robert Larsen, and Tim McDonald invited us to with Cameron Hughes. On that call we tasted through 6 of Cameron’s wines. Jeff and I each selected one to revisit and recoded this episode of One Bottle Each immediately afterwards. In case you’re unfamiliar with de Négoce we discuss how the New World Negociant brand works in the video. Basically though there are two ways to buys one. The wines are initially offered as futures through his mailing list at incredibly low prices based on the quality found in the bottle. These futures are offered in advance of bottling and you’ll get the wines a few months later. Once they’re ready to go he offers them up again through his webstore for a few dollars more. In both cases the wines are sold for well under what they would be if they were sold by the producer that Cameron sourced them from.

On Episode 15 Jeff and I taste and discuss:

de Négoce 2019 Paso Robles Rosé

de Négoce 2018 Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon
